So here is what we know: On January 16, former Bachelor Matt James took to Instagram to unexpectedly announce his split from Rachael Kirkconnell with a very cryptic message. A mere 12 hours earlier, he'd posted a video of himself splitting a pizza with Rachael in London, which left fans like, "...huh?" And now Rachael's sister Trinity is weighing in to clear up the timeline.
On January 17, after a fan posted a TikTok discussing the breakup confusion, Trinity slid into the comments section to share some 😱 insight about what *really* went down. In response to another commenter, who wrote, "The old content from London makes sense if it was sponsored, but it feels like he could have edited her out," Trinity said this:
"They were still together when he was posting all that...just to give some perspective on the timeline of things."
Oh, and in response to another commenter, who wrote, "I'm sorry, they were broken up for less than 15 hours before he announced it?!?" Trinity fired back with, "Try 3 hours."
To make matters even MORE confusing, fans have also been theorizing that the former couple was not in London when they split but instead in Tokyo. On January 19, DeuxMoi posted a video that seemingly showed the pair walking in Tokyo together on January 13, days before Matt dropped his breakup IG post. However, he has yet to share any Tokyo content on his grid, so...do with this info what you will.
For the record, Rachael has yet to publicly confirm the breakup herself, but she did "like" a comment from a fan suggesting she'd been "blindsided" by Matt's post.
