All the Pogues fight for their lives in new “Outer Banks” season 4 trailer

A new adventure begins — and it looks even more dangerous than the hunt for the El Dorado gold.

What comes after "happily ever after?" For the Outer Banks teens, more adventure, danger, and treasure hunts, of course!

Netflix's drama wrapped up its series-long story in the season 3 finale when John B (Chase Stokes)Sarah (Madelyn Cline)Kiara (Madison Bailey)JJ (Rudy Pankow)Pope (Jonathan Daviss), and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) found the El Dorado gold and were publicly celebrated for their treasure hunting skills. And according to the new season 4 trailer (below), the Pogues get to enjoy some well-deserved R&R back home.

But to no one's surprise (except maybe the Pogues themselves), they just can't stay out of the "G game" for long. The trailer confirms what the season 3 finale time jump teased — that the Pogues will accept the treasure hunt delivered to them by a mysterious benefactor.

But this time, it's because they need the money. The footage reveals that the Pogues spend all the money they got from the gold building Poguelandia 2.0, a home and business they all live in and run together, and so they end up needing to pay off a $13,000 bill in only a week. That leads them to accept the paid mission to find Blackbeard's treasure.

As they've learned over the past three seasons, treasure hunting is a dangerous career path. The trailer reveals flashes of what awaits them on their new assignment, from fights, to fires, to attempted murders, as well as continued — and worsening — rivalries with Topper (Austin North) and Rafe (Drew Starkey). As Kiara says ominously, it's just them against the world.

"They come back home to the Outer Banks and they actually build what they had on the island, but even a better version of it: Poguelandia 2.0," showrunner Jonas Pate previously told Entertainment Weekly. "They really create their own paradise. The season's really about them trying to protect what they've built back home."

As for which Pogue is going to be the most invested in the hunt to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Pate teased, "There's a personal connection, and this is JJ's year. It's our most powerful season yet. The stakes are getting higher."
