The Gang Returns to Treasure Hunting and Faces New Enemies in “Outer Banks ”Season 4 Trailer
Season 4 of the Netflix drama will drop in two parts, Part 1 on Oct. 10 and Part 2 on Nov. 7
In Outer Banks season 4, the gang reaps the benefits of striking gold — until it runs outs, that is.
The official trailer for the highly-anticipated fourth season — which is dropping in two five-episode parts, on Oct. 10 and Nov. 7 — is finally here, revealing new shipwrecks, mysterious tattoos and, of course, plenty of classic Pogue sarcasm.
The trailer, released Tuesday, Sept. 4, gives the first glimpse at the events leading up to last season’s 18-month flash-forward and, naturally, opens with cheeky narration from John B (Chase Stokes).
“So you might be wondering what happens when you find the lost city of El Dorado and you’re stranded with a sack full of gold,” he teases. “Let me catch you up.”
Then, the trailer cuts to the gang — John B, Sarah (Madelyn Cline), Kiara (Madison Bailey), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and Cleo (Carlacia Grant) — reaping the rewards of their El Dorado findings in “Poguelandia 2.0." At least, until they realize they’ve not only gone broke, but also owe a serious sum.
"We were gonna live the good life, the simple life, treasure-hunting was in the past,” John B narrates. “But what we didn’t know at the time is that nothing ever stands still.”

Faced with no other choice, the gang returns their hijinks, taking Wes Genrette (David Jensen) up on his proposal to find Blackbeard’s treasure — but everything isn’t what seems.
“Y’all aren’t getting a weird-a-- vibe?” asks Kiara, before John B adds, “There’s a lot more going on that we don’t know about.”
According to an official synopsis, Outer Banks season 4 picks up after the Pogues have returned to the OBX and commited themselves to having a "normal" life.”
"They’ve built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed ‘Poguelandia 2.0’, where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour shop," the synopsis reads. "But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo take Wes up on his offer, drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure.”
“But before they know it, they're well in over their heads, with dangerous new enemies hot on their heels racing them to the treasure,” the synopsis continues. “Meanwhile, their problems are only growing, and they’re forced to question their past, present, and future - who they really are, has it all been worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?”

Earlier this year, Stokes, 32, chatted with PEOPLE about season 4 — and specifically, what’s to come for his and Cline’s characters.
Both John B and Sarah were faced with a great loss after their fathers — Big John (Charles Halford) and Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), respectively — died at the end of season 3. This upcoming season, Stokes said, will see the on-screen couple grappling with those deaths.
“Anytime you experience loss, it hits in spaces and in places that you don't anticipate,” he told PEOPLE. “Being in the situation that John B and Sarah are in, it really will force them to evaluate everything.”
