Pink opens up about marriage struggles on 18-year anniversary: 'We almost didn't make this one'

Singer Pink has uploaded a heartfelt Instagram post celebrating her 18th anniversary with husband Carey Hart, detailing the ups and downs of married life.

The pair have had a famously tumultuous relationship timeline, splitting up on and off before they wed in 2006 and then separated in 2008. They got back together in 2009 and Pink gave birth to their first child Willow in 2011 and their second child Jameson in 2016.

Uploading a gallery of images throughout the years, Pink paid tribute to her husband and their good and bad times.

"Love is a lifetime of coming back to the table. We almost didn’t make it to this one, well a couple of them, if I’m being honest," she started the post.

"When I met you, 22 years ago, I just wanted someone that wouldn’t lie to me. I didn’t have a clue about commitment, building a life together, intimacy, trust. It’s f***ng hard. But man if I’m not humbled by the surprise of loyalty, history, forgiveness, and resilience. How love rearranges itself and reappears after an empty night or five. I’m proud we made it to the other side of this year. I wear our scars proudly. You are my stubborn, beautiful, immovable rock.

"The family we’ve built and the stories we have weaved together and the memories we continue to make are worth more than a thousand million awards that anyone could give me. I love you and I love us," she wrote.

"I think the world of this dream team," Selma Blair said in the comments, with former Real Housewives star Bethenny Frankel saying "This post is everything."

Some fans took to Instagram to share their own stories.

"Married for 36…. we met at an unemployment office…both had nothing….we’ve since travelled the world adopted children and continue to believe God put us together for a reason," one person said. "Happy Anniversary To you both!! Hard work yep …but it’s worth it!"

Carey also posted his own tribute to their dedicated union.

"In the last 18 years of marriage to this amazing human, we have done so much together. Raise two amazing children, travel the world, go on adventures, love, argue, make up, support each other, laugh, cry, laugh more, breakup, get back together, party, mourn, grow, and a million other things," he said.

"There is no one else on this planet I’d rather do it with than you. 22 years in each other lives and I’m looking forward to the next 22. As long as you don’t kill me first 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Love you baby!!!!! Happy anniversary."
