Peter Dinklage Joins ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ at Showtime

Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of “Dexter: Resurrection” at Paramount+ with Showtime, Variety has learned.

As previously announced, “Dexter” star Michael C. Hall will reprise the role of the titular serial killer in the series. No specific plot details are available for “Resurrection,” but the series will serve as a direct followup to “Dexter: New Blood.” Production on the series began in New York in January for a planned summer launch.

Along with Dinklage and Hall, additional cast members include Uma Thurman, David Zayas, James Remar, and Jack Alcott.

Dinklage will play Leon Prater, described as “a billionaire venture capitalist. To the world, Leon is a generous philanthropist, but behind his polished exterior lies dark intrigue.”

Dinklage won four Emmys and a Golden Globe for his starring role in the megahit HBO series “Game of Thrones.” Yet although his best-known role was in television, he has primarily worked in film during his onscreen career. He has previously starred in features like “The Station Agent,” “I Care A Lot,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” “My Dinner with Herve,” and “Cyrano.” He recently starred in the hit film adaptation of the musical “Wicked” in the role of Dr. Dillamond.

Dinklage is repped by CAA and Jackoway Austen Tyerman.

“Resurrection” is the latest attempt to expand the “Dexter” world. Along with “New Blood,” Paramount recently launched the prequel series “Dexter: Original Sin” with Patrick Gibson in the lead role and with Hall providing voiceover narration.
