People Are Sharing Their Most Controversial (But Low Stakes) Food Opinions, And I'm So Sorry, But Some Of These Takes NEEDED To Be Said
We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community, "What's your most low-stakes — but controversial — food opinion?" And some of these answers gave me the psychological equivalent of meat sweats (also known as just...anxiety).
So here are 17 of people's answers; let's see how many you think are spot on.
."Mint chocolate is nasty. 🤮"
."Whoever invented ants on a log should be forever socially shunned and/or glared at perpetually for the rest of their life."
."Mushrooms are the devil's food."
."I often prefer boxed mac and cheese over a restaurant's version."
."Sweet does not belong with savory or salty. Every time someone raves about candied bacon, a piece of my soul dies."
."Raw tomatoes are disgusting. They taste metallic."
."Creamy peanut butter is so much better than crunchy. I don't wanna be crunching on a PB&J!!"
."The boring, less-sugar, non-weird, whacky mascot cereals are the best. Cheerios, Chex, Shredded Wheat, sign me up."
."Ham and pineapple are okay on pizza if there are also green chilies."
."It doesn’t matter what kind of oil you use in day-to-day cooking a majority. I’m tired of recipes telling me I absolutely must drizzle the bread in fancy, impossible-to-find oil from the ear of a mink. I have olive oil. I’m using olive oil."
."Coffee is so bitter and I don’t drink it at all. I’ve tried it so many ways with so many flavorings added to it, but I can’t get over that strong, bitter taste."
."I don’t like cheese on burgers 🤷♀️. it tastes fresher than with it."
."Culinary purism is foolish. If not for experimentation, combination, and personalization, we'd still be eating nuts and berries."
."Mayo is gross."
."The more rare the fish, the better. Give it to me raw; don’t be afraid."
."Kalamata olives are tons better than black olives any day!"
.And lastly, in contrast with the first take: "Mint belongs in way more desserts. Mint with chocolate and vanilla are both delicious."
So, what do you think? Do you agree with the takes above? Or do you have another low-stakes but controversial opinion about food?
