Cheryl Hines roasted on social media as she supports RFK Jr. in Senate hearing

“Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Cheryl Hines trended on social media Wednesday while sitting front row for her husband Robert F. Kennedy’s Senate confirmation hearing to become the nation’s next Secretary of Health and Human Service.

While Larry David’s TV ex-wife got some support on Elon Musk’s social media platform X, she also survived a healthy dose of criticism.

“I liked Cheryl Hines better when she was married to Larry David,” joked one commenter.

Not everyone agreed.

“I really like Cheryl Hines,” posted another commenter. “I’m glad she divorced Larry David and married RFK Jr.”

Hines played the famously tolerant Cheryl David on more than 100 episodes of the HBO comedy between 2000 and 2024. Her character finally split from her finicky TV spouse in the eighth season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

She married RFK Jr. in real life in 2014.

The 59-year-old actor was cast into an unscripted drama in 2024 when her husband became a candidate for president. That short-lived campaign ended with RFK Jr. throwing his support behind Donald Trump, much to the chagrin of his own family and many of Hines’ fans. The couple has indicated that they don’t share the same politics, but support one another.

That arrangement hasn’t always met with the approval of RFK Jr. critics who take issue with his unconventional views on medical science — vaccines in particular.

“It’s time that actress, Cheryl Hines, stops getting a pass,” wrote another X commenter. “Standing by her ‘husband’ is abhorrent as he poses a deadly threat to all Americans and our healthcare system.”

Several observers felt Hines was blinking a lot while her husband was grilled by both Democrats and Republicans in Wednesday morning’s proceedings.

“Is Cheryl Hines sending us Morse Code?” joked an X user @PlatinumFlicker.

RFK Jr. pointed out his wife and other family members during his confirmation hearing to show he has the support of some of his loved ones. Numerous relatives have warned the public about their family black sheep, including his cousin Caroline Kennedy, who called RFK Jr. a “predator” who can’t be trusted.

“Bobby has gone on to misrepresent, lie and cheat his way through life,” she said in a letter to Senators.
