Paul Wesley to Executive-Produce Vampire Comedy in the Works at Fox
Paul Wesley is getting back into the coffin… although not on camera this time.
The Vampire Diaries alum is set to executive-produce a new vampire comedy for Fox, our sister site Deadline reports. The untitled comedy, which is currently in development, centers on a 25-year-old vampire who dreams of becoming an actor while “running the family business for his murderous and suffocating vampire parents,” per the official synopsis.

Joining Wesley as EPs are Victor Fresco (Santa Clarita Diet, Unstable), who will pen the pilot, and Liz Friedlander (Bad Monkey, The Rookie), who is set to direct. (Friedlander also helmed three episodes of The Vampire Diaries, for the record.) There’s no indication at this point that Wesley will appear on the series as well, but of course, that could always change. (A cameo, perhaps?)
Wesley played vampire Stefan Salvatore on The CW’s The Vampire Diaries for all eight seasons, alongside Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder. His other TV credits include Tell Me a Story, Army Wives and 24. He currently plays Captain James T. Kirk in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.
