Paul Rudd Relaxes Shirtless on Australian Beach amid Filming New “Anaconda” Movie

Paul Rudd is having some fun in the sun.

On Saturday, Jan. 18, the Ant-Man star, 55, was spotted basking in the sun on a beach in Gold Coast, Australia, where he is filming Anaconda, a comedic reimagining of Jennifer Lopez’s 1997 killer snake horror flick Anaconda. The Marvel star, who was PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in 2021, was also seen in a casual T-shirt tossing a Frisbee-like flying disc.

Rudd’s new film, due out in December, will star Rudd and Jack Black as well as newly reported cast members Thandiwe Newton and Steve Zahn, the The Hollywood Reporter revealed on Jan. 17. The 1997 version starred Lopez, Ice Cube, Owen Wilson, Jon Voight and Eric Stoltz.

In December, Sony Pictures released a YouTube video featuring the two actors teasing the movie, which is slated for release on Christmas Day.

“Hey, what’s up, people? We’re making a movie,” Black said, to which Rudd added, “Guess what it is?”

“Paul Rudd and Jack Black star in … Anaconda!” screamed Black as a confused Rudd screamed “Anaconda!" in unison.

"It might be The Anaconda,” Black quipped. “Whatever, there's going to be a big f---in' snake and it's gonna rip!”

"You want to get scared?" Rudd asked. "You want to laugh? You want to celebrate with your friends? Or maybe you're alone and sad and have nobody but just want to forget about. It's coming out on Christmas in 2025 ... What are you gonna do, open presents?"

At the end of the video, Black invited Rudd to take a peek the giant snake in the next room. "They're about to feed it a donkey, come on," he said as Rudd smiled and followed him off camera.

Rudd also shared the video on Instagram in December.

While he hasn’t posted much about the movie since then, he recently took time to post about his 2021 title of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive on Instagram. In the photo posted on Jan. 12, the actor can be seen sporting a black T-shirt as he carries a red bicycle over his shoulder.

“The sexiest man alive #always 😍❤️,” he captioned the post.

Before Anaconda comes out, Rudd will star alongside Jenna Ortega in A24's Death of a Unicorn, which is slated to hit theaters on March 28.
