Parker Posey borrowed from her 'White Lotus' wardrobe for a red-carpet appearance
At the White Lotus, visitors are treated like royalty (even as their empires come crumbling down). Between unlimited spa packages and equally free-flowing drinks, it’s easy to forget that the chain of luxury resorts is also linked to a string of murders — especially when everyone is dressed to the nines. That said, even the fashion around the hotel has its secrets, and when Victoria Ratliff’s Gucci bag mysteriously disappeared on that yacht, tensions ran high.
Parker Posey, however, knows better than to repeat the mistakes of her character. On Thursday night, the actress stepped out in New York City to support the launch of the luxury clothing store Printemps, toting along some opulence of her own. In hand, she carried the same white Gucci Bamboo bag favoured by her character — keeping a tight grip on the vintage purse, lest someone be after its interior contents (hopefully there’s less Lorazepam and more loose change in there).
While Ratliff’s personal style aims to whisper wealth, Posey stuck with her signature maximalist look. For her night out, she slipped into a molten gold dress, cinching her reflective look with a matching belt. A massive fur coat, also from Gucci, was draped casually over her shoulders, while below, an ornate pair of teal heels from Roger Vivier added another element of luxury to her look. A circular pair of orange-tinted sunglasses quite literally rounded out her look, complementing her bold scarlet lipstick.
Of course, Gucci’s white Bamboo 1947 bag was the highlight of Posey’s ensemble, and to double-down on the fact, she held it in front of her at all times (there would be no misplacing this silhouette in real life).

“She’s definitely a legend,” Alex Bovaird, costume designer of The White Lotus, said of Posey in an earlier interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “She has a really definitive sense of style. She came with a lot of ideas and was very collaborative… she’s really fun to fit,” he added. Clearly, that fun extended to this look, too.
