'Worst Oscars ever': Fans outraged over bizarre ending to show
Fans were left outraged after the Academy Awards decided to switch around the order of how they presented some of the most prestigious Oscars on the night.
Despite it being an Oscars tradition to end the night on the Best Picture award, this year, for some reason, they shook things up, calling out Nomadland as the winner before they’d even announced who had taken out the Best Actress and Best Actor gongs.
While fans and viewers alike were sure late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman would be honoured with the Best Actor award, Anthony Hopkins was instead given the award for his role in The Father.
Now, fans have taken to Twitter to call out the moment, with one person speculating the producers may have switched up the order because they ‘assumed’ Chadwick Boseman would win for his performance in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom.

“Well....that’s an anticlimactic ending. Best picture should have still went last? Weird,” one person said.
“I turned it on just to see Chadwicks name called cause I heard it was a sure thing. What was the point of having that award go last?” another person wrote.
"Wow. I kinda have no words now. They clearly rearranged all this hoping to end on Chadwick. And now this great moment for Hopkins also feels ruined. What a bad way to end all this," an Oscars viewer said.
While one person simply said: “Worst Oscars ever”, another person wrote: “I don't want to necessarily get caught up in worst Oscars ever hyperbole, but SO many bad producing decisions tonight. And that ending-on-Best-Actor-instead-of-Best-Picture gamble was the punctuation mark on an evening gone awry.”
It wasn’t the only change that caused some confusion online, with the Best Director gong being awarded to Chloé Zhao very early on in the ceremony.
People took to Twitter to ask why, with one person calling the switch-up “weird”.
