The 58-year-old began the video by walking through what was left of his house, with the bare bones visible around him. He traveled through what used to be his bedroom, bathroom and office, which looked unrecognizable after the blaze. His "charred toilet" was on display, as were the remains of his shower and bath.
The destruction of Wilson's home was the result of wildfires in California in November.
Trying to see the bright side of the situation, Wilson went on, "There’s some kind of valuable lesson here. I’m not sure what it is — kind of death and fire teaches you a lesson about the impermanence of life and the preciousness of what we have.”
Wilson then asked fans to share what sort of revelations or lessons they thought he might be going through as he deals with the ordeal, admitting that he was "so overwhelmed, my brain just goes offline — I can barely process it.”
Concluding his message, the actor implored fans to "stay grateful" for everything they have, while also saying that he's "grateful" that a lot of the home is still intact while others weren't so lucky.
Fans and friends shared messages of support and poignant thoughts in the comments, such as one fan who wrote, "Things are just things. I’m a fire healer…….there is magic in the release and rebuilding. You now have a clean slate to create from."
