Nine host Danika Mason receives support from fiancé's ex after cancelling wedding

Channel Nine presenter Danika Mason has received a surprising message of support following her split from fiancé Todd Liubinskas.

Danika called off the pair's wedding just three weeks before they were set to tie the knot overseas, with guests receiving the news last week that it would no longer go ahead.

Now, Todd's ex-girlfriend, who was with the personal trainer for seven years, has come out in support of Danika.

"I can only hope that Danika hasn't been blindsided like I was or going through something similar," she told the Daily Mail. "My heart goes out to her if she was."

The publication reports the Sunday Footy Show presenter "appeared forlorn" and declined to comment on the split as she walked the pair's dog, Charlie.

Friends told The Daily Telegraph this week that Danika is "beyond devastated" and "completely heartbroken" that the three-year relationship came to an end.

Despite her heartbreak, Danika still appeared on TV over the weekend for Nine's coverage of the preliminary finals, but this time, without her engagement ring.

It's unclear at this stage why the wedding was called off. However, the pair was last seen together at an event for the new BYD electric car less than two weeks ago.

Todd proposed to Danika in July 2021, taking to Instagram to share the exciting news.

"Today was a good day!" he wrote alongside a selfie of the pair at the beach, with Danika showing off her ring.

The presenter shared her own post to announce the news, sharing the same snap, writing, "Today was pretty amazing 💍."
