Deborra-Lee Furness breaks silence after split from Hugh Jackman

"What a disaster!"

Deborra-Lee Furness has remained quiet in the days since she and Hugh Jackman announced their split earlier this month.

The pair initially revealed the split in a statement shared with People Magazine, saying: "We have been blessed to share almost three decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth."

"We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives."

While Hugh has been quizzed about the split while out and about in New York following the announcement, Deborra-Lee has remained quiet.

On Tuesday morning, on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, Kyle Sandilands accidentally called the Australian actress, who answered very quickly.

The host was seemingly as surprised as she was, telling her, "We've actually called you by mistake, it's ridiculous."

"Oh!" Deborra-Lee said with a laugh, adding, "How you doing?"

"Sorry, yeah seriously, this is not a stitch-up," he told her. "We didn't mean to actually call you but now you're here, we won't go into [the divorce], we love you, we hope you're well?"

"Thank you guys, I really appreciate it, you're really sweet," she told the hosts.

"I just feel it's too soon," Kyle responded. "We're not going to get involved in these things, we love you, and you ring us when you want to chat."

"Thank you guys, really appreciate it," Deborra-Lee said.

After hanging up, Jackie 'O' Henderson questioned how they'd accidentally called her, with Kyle saying he thought she was already on the line, but somehow managed to ring her instead.

"You've changed, Kyle," newsreader Brooklyn Ross said, seemingly surprised the host didn't question her about the split.

"I'm not here to stitch anyone up in the worst time of their life," he responded, with Brooklyn saying it may actually be the best time of her life.

Kyle joked that they should bring her back to ask, adding, "What a disaster!"
