Nikki Glaser's Golden Globes opening monologue takes aim at Diddy, Timothée Chalamet

Nikki Glaser sidestepped jokes about the Blake Lively-Justin Baldoni controversy at this year's Golden Globes, but that didn't stop her from skewering, well, everyone else.

The comedian hosted the 2025 Golden Globe Awards (which she called "Ozempic's biggest night") on CBS and Paramount+, which kicked off awards season with a mix of tactful teases and cringeworthy critiques.

"I am not here to roast you tonight," Glaser began. "I want you to know that. And how could I, really? You're all so famous, so talented, so powerful. I mean, you could really do anything, except tell the country who to vote for," she said, referencing the re-election of Donald Trump as president. "But it's OK," she added, "you'll get 'em next time ― if there is one." Then she played up the "Wicked" press-tour interview meme in which Ariana Grande comforted co-star Cynthia Erivo by holding and tapping on her finger. Glaser said, "I'm scared. Ariana, hold my finger."

The political punchlines continued: "'The Bear,' 'The Penguin, 'Baby Reindeer.' These are not just things found in RFK (Jr.'s) freezer. These are TV shows nominated tonight."

Glaser also took a swing at Paramount+ rival Peacock, mentioning that even Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne had a TV show this year. He was nominated for Peacock's "The Day of the Jackal."

"I think I've seen more actual peacocks in my life than shows on Peacock," Glaser quipped. Glaser poked fun, too, at Timothée Chalamet's thin mustache – "the most gorgeous eyelashes on your upper lip." Chalamet took the hit in stride, with Kylie Jenner at his side.

But Glaser waded into icky territory when talking about "Challengers," the movie starring Zendaya.

"It was so good," Glaser said. "I mean, that movie was more sexually charged than Diddy's credit card." (Sean "Diddy" Combs, of course, was arrested on sexual abuse charges last year.)

She left the Hollywood audience (and viewers at home) with a not-at-all-funny but important reminder: "I predict, five years from now, when you're watching old clips of (this) show on YouTube, you'll see someone in one of the crowd shots, and you'll go, 'Oh my god, that was before they caught that guy.' We could be making history tonight, and, like, we don't even know with who."
