“The Night Agent”: Gabriel Basso is on the dangerous hunt for a mole in action-packed season 2 trailer
"I cannot trust anyone."
When Netflix's The Night Agent picks up in season two, Gabriel Basso's Peter Sutherland is on the run.
The trailer the streamer unveiled on Dec. 25 shows the FBI agent in action, running through crowds and sharing information in secret, as he attempts to keep a low profile after the operation he was working on "went bad." At one point, he sees that he has at least three people following him.
Meanwhile, we hear that he's gone AWOL, after the discovery of "credible evidence of a leak in the CIA."
Watch the intense scenario below:
"We have a mole, selling leaked American intelligence to the highest bidder," he says in one scene. "And last night, someone sold enough experimental weapons to wipe out Manhattan."
Pressed for time, Sutherland ultimately decides he's going to take care of the problem himself. Enter another whirlwind season of the intelligence community-set series.

Notably, the trailer is the introduction of Brittany Snow's character, Alice, who's Peter's new mentor.
"Alice is Peter's point of contact and superior in Thailand," Snow told Entertainment Weekly this month. "She's a very skilled agent and someone who is very used to living the lifestyle of solitude."
The audience sees that play out in the trailer when Alice warns that "relationships are dangerous."

That's an inconvenient truth for Sutherland, who still has strong feelings for Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan). Larkin, for her part, is grappling with her understandably challenging coupledom with Sutherland.
New episodes of the series don't drop until Jan. 23, but the show has already been renewed for a third season.
