Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban Might Return to Their Native Australia
After a year filled with highs and lows, could home be the best place for the superstar Aussie couple?
It seems like every other day celebrities are relocating and leaving Los Angeles for a number of reasons, including (but not limited to) certain recent political events, to be closer to family, and high taxes. Eva Longoria, Richard Gere, and Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi, have all moved abroad, and it seems Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban could be the next Hollywood couple to follow suit.
According to Woman's Day, Kidman and Urban are reportedly considering moving back to their native Australia, following the death of Kidman's mother Janelle in September. Kidman and Urban, as well as their daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, returned to Sydney for the funeral last month. A source told the outlet that friends and family are worried that Kidman is experiencing "burn out" after a busy year. Kidman is currently promoting her upcoming film Babygirl, which premieres on December 25.
The insider added, “The big worry on everyone's minds is, how much more of this can she take?”
According to The Standard, Kidman and Urban already own multiple properties in Australia, including a farmhouse in the Southern Highlands, as well as two Sydney pent houses that they lease out. However, Kidman is currently filming Scarpetta in the United States. Urban is reportedly considering taking a step back from touring following his Las Vegas residency to be by Kidman's side.
In a recent interview with GQ, Kidman opened up about how the grief of losing her parents has manifested in her day-to-day life. The actress revealed that she often wakes up "crying and gasping."
"So life is, whew. It's definitely a journey. And it hits you as you get older," Kidman said before adding that she thinks about death even more now after her parents' deaths and as a mother to two daughters. "Mortality. Connection. Life coming and hitting you," she said. "And loss of parents and raising children and marriage and all of the things that go into making you a fully sentient human. I'm in all of those places."
Kidman also spoke about the impact her late mother had on her life in an interview with Vanity Fair, calling her a "compass."
"It’s like losing that, but at the same time going, 'Okay, well, this is for her then,'" she explained. "So much of what she wanted for my sister and I was to create women in this world who felt like they could express themselves and have opportunities, especially things she didn’t have from her generation."
