Nicolas Cage Goes Viral for Unsuspecting Appearance in Palisades Fire Footage

As the Palisades Fire and other wildfires continue to rage throughout Los Angeles, more footage of the devastation has circulated on social media. The area is filled with famous people, so the occasional celeb cameo is to be expected—and Nicolas Cage recently went viral for his unsuspecting appearance.

When one TikTok user attempted to capture plumes of smoke in the distance from what appeared to be a pier in Santa Monica, they ended up having an unexpected encounter with a major movie star.

In a clip shared on Wednesday, Jan. 9, people walked back and forth in front of the camera as smoke billowed in the background against a bright blue sky. Suddenly, Cage strolled past, stopping to acknowledge that he was being filmed with a quick wave. The 60-year-old star was dressed in all black, wearing a jacket, shirt, jeans, and boots.

"Nothing screams LA quite like a forest fire and Nicolas Cage," the poster wrote, adding in the caption that the experience felt "like a fever dream."

Commenters couldn't get over Cage showing up from out of nowhere.

"Oh damn he looks so good that walk is legendary," one person raved.

"Absolute cinema," another declared, with a third fan calling Cage "iconic."

"He waved like you were recording him in the first place lol," joked someone else.

While Cage hasn't spoken publicly about the wildfires, numerous other members of the Hollywood community have opened up about how they've been affected. Billy Crystal, Mandy Moore, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton and Ricki Lake are among the stars who've lost their homes.

The Palisades Fire, burning in the Westside of LA near Malibu and Santa Monica, was at 0 percent containment, as of Wednesday, evening and had destroyed over 1,000 structures, according to CNN.
