'Kate was horrified': Real reason behind fab four split according to new book

A new book has claimed to uncover the ‘real reason’ behind the rift between Harry, Meghan, William and Kate when all four were still senior members of the royal family.

While the four were initially dubbed ‘the fab four’ and got along like a house on fire, one unfortunate incident well and truly doused the flames according to a new book, Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir From Queen Mary To Meghan Markle by Tom Quinn.

The new publication has claimed that it was after Meghan shouted at a member of Kate’s staff that things got frosty between the pair.

"Kate was horrified when Meghan shouted at a member of Kate's staff—that was definitely the beginning of discussions about leaving Kensington Palace," a source described as a former staff member told the book.

Making matters worse was the source’s claim that Kate is notoriously kind to staff.

“Kate is actually one of the nicest royals, and she hasn't let life in her extremely grand apartment at Kensington go to her head—or at least not too much,” the insider said. “She is nice to her staff, in the main, and she was very warm towards Meghan when she arrived.”

The source said that adjusting to life as a royal was difficult for Meghan who was not used to servants, and unsure of how to address them.

“Like many people not used to dealing with servants, Meghan overdoes the imperiousness; so, on the one hand, she wants to be like Diana, a people's princess, and on the other she wants people to stand to attention when she clicks her fingers,” the source claimed.

Other sources claimed that Meghan’s treatment by the more traditional set in the family pushed her to breaking point.

“There are the more reactionary elements in the royal family who do look down on her, and she knows it,” another source said. “This makes her overreact sometimes—she doesn't have Kate's assured way of dealing with people.”

The book is not yet available publically and will be published on May 14.

Foursome no more

Harry and Meghan have since effectively left the royal family, while Wills and Kate connect with their subjects via social-distancing-friendly zoom calls.

Kate had let her hair down of late, in a possible nod to her now distant sister-in-law.

She even admitted to tricking her kids with a little white lie in one highly relatable parenting moment.

Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan have finally resurfaced after weeks of skating under the radar.

The pair were spotted handing out food to the needy while decked out in protective gear in Los Angeles last month.

Now, they have announced they intend to release a tell-all memoir entitled Finding Freedom, a telling title given the pair’s rocky relationship with the British media, and eventual decision to move abroad.

Now Meghan is also rumoured to be relaunching her lifestyle website The Tig as the pair settle into their newly unfettered lifestyle.
