“It’s an American institution,” says Larry David in the trailer.

Pete Davidson describes auditioning for the show as “terrifying” as he joins several other celebrities confessing they were nervous when they started on SNL.

While reacting to old footage of herself hosting, Amy Poehler visibly cringes before saying, “Okay, that’s enough.”

Tina Fey and Seth Meyers are also among the long list of alumni set to appear in the docuseries, while Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell and Kenan Thompson — the latter of whom is the longest-running SNL cast member to date — are also among those featured in the teaser.

SNL50 will shine a light on the show's comedians, writers, most-talked-about sketches and periods when the show came close to being canceled.

“This is beyond my wildest dreams that they’re making a documentary about the cowbell sketch,” Jimmy Fallon says in the trailer, referring to a beloved skit that aired in 2000 with guest host Christopher Walken.

Executive produced by Oscar and Emmy winner Morgan Neville, the docuseries has the aim of “each episode taking a different creative approach to the tapestry of SNL and embracing the unique vision of their award-winning directors,” per a news release.
