Not your everyday ball pit

The luxe-looking foam version, now sold online by the budget retailer, is almost identical to more expensive brands, which some mums say retail for upwards of $280.

The more luxurious version of the popular kids' toy has been made popular by celebrities, including Kim Kardashian, who has a very similar-looking foam ball pit in her kids’ playroom.

'Kmart does it again!'

After spotting a sneak peek of the new Foam Play Ball Pit online, Kmart fans couldn’t wait to get their hands on one.

“In case anyone wants a stylish ball pit ... mine was over $250 and Kmart is bringing out a very similar style for $79,” one mum shared on the Kmart Inspired Homes Facebook page.

Her post instantly sparked a flurry of 300 comments from fellow mums asking when it would be available.

“I saw this and was so excited; I could never justify paying over a hundred dollars for one when my boys were little - hopefully, they have the option of pink balls too,” one mum wrote.

“Omg how cute are these! So cheap!!” said another, while a third added: “Kmart does it again!”

Better get in quick

Meanwhile, others couldn't believe the price difference, with some saying they paid more than double the $79 Kmart price tag for almost the same thing.

“Omg you’re kidding me! I literally just paid like $300 for one last month,” one mum wrote.

Another said she paid $280 for an almost identical 90cm foam ball pit from an online store.

Coming soon

The Kmart version comes with removable, washable covers and 150 coloured play balls, designed to “help develop visual, cause and effect, sensory and tactile and fine motor skills”.

While it is yet to be spotted in stores, it is on the website with a "coming soon" sign.

The luxe-for-less ball pit is just one of the new nursery items to drop on the Kmart website.

Mums are also snapping up a range of rattan nursery accessories, including a $25 rattan rainbow mobile and $29 rattan rainbow wall hooks.

So, if you want to be the first to get your hands on one, you’ll need to keep checking the Kmart website.
