“Mormon Wives ”Star Dakota Mortensen Details 'Bloody' Hair Transplant Journey: 'I’ll Be Looking Like Fabio'
The real estate agent documented the entire experience, which he called "the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life" in a series of TikTok videos
Dakota Mortensen is lifting the lid on his cosmetic surgery!
On Saturday, Jan. 11, the Mormon Wives star and real estate agent shared several videos documenting his hair transplant journey, starting with a more humorous look into the procedure.
In a TikTok video, which comes months after his rumored split from Taylor Frankie Paul, Mortensen got goofy as he danced around an empty room at the facility where he underwent the transplant, Utah Facial Plastics.
The clip, soundtracked to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” appears to have been taken prior to the procedure, with the reality star rocking a surgical cap and gown as he recorded at the Salt Lake City medical spa.
Alongside the clips of himself, he wrote, “When they leave you alone in a room you shouldn't be left alone in,” and in the caption, promised to post the “full process on my hair transplant” later in the day. “#hairtransplant,” he added. “#balding #daddy.”
In response to the TikTok, which garnered over 600,000 views, people praised the Mormon Wives star for his sense of humor.
“I like this Dakota haha I had no idea you were so funny,” one user wrote. “More of this content.’
"You make living life look fun,” another said. “You just bring such a fun energy ✨️.”
Later on Saturday, Mortensen shared the full process of his procedure in a different — this time vlog-style — TikTok, which he kicked off at 7 a.m. local time telling his followers, “Come with me to get a hair transplant.”
The first clip the star shared was of his hair being partially shaved off from behind, then a video of the front of his forehead with a new, marked line indicating where the transplant would be.
“So that’s my new hairline, guys,” he told his followers, noting that he thinks he looks like a "Viking" now.
Next, he included a shot of one of the medical spa’s plastic surgeons beginning the procedure as he lay down and said, “It feels like something’s squeezing my head.” The procedure continued with the surgeon sharing each step out loud and the reality star zooming in to show close-up shots of his forehead.
In a voiceover, Mortensen declared that the transplant was “the coolest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”
And, as the video continued, the surgeon showed how he harvested and relocated the hair on the back of the reality star’s head to his front hairline.

Mortensen finished the vulnerable clip by showing off his post-op hairline in the car, a bandage wrapped around the transplant site. “Alright guys, this is the final product,” he concluded. “It looks like a bunch of maggots, but I can assure you I’ll be looking like Fabio when it’s all said and done.”
Plus, he added in the caption, “Couldn’t show a lot cause of how bloody it was. 😂 But such a crazy process 🙌.”
And, though some people voiced the opinion that Mortensen didn’t need the procedure done, he revealed why he went through with it in a different video, captioned: “When your’re going bald so you get a hair transplant.”
