Miley Cyrus on Liam Hemsworth divorce: 'It f****** sucked'
Miley Cyrus has opened up about her split from Aussie actor Liam Hemsworth, saying it really “f****** sucked”.
Fans were left shocked in August 2019 when the Nothing Breaks Like A Heart singer and Hunger Games actor announced they were parting ways, after just a few months of marriage.
Now, in an interview with the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Miley has spilled the beans on the breakup, saying that she found it hard that she was villanised at the time.
“I worry sometimes that I can get over things easily. I don’t fall to the floor and crawl up in a ball the way that I used to and I I think that’s a part of me growing up,” Miley said.
“I recently just went through a very public divorce that f****** sucked. What really sucked about it wasn’t the fact that me and someone that I loved realised that we didn’t love each other the way that we used to anymore, that’s ok, I can accept that.
“I can’t accept the villanising. It’s just amazing to me that the public kind of thinks that there’s no gap of time that they didn’t see that could possibly be what led to this. It's not ‘one day you were happy on the carpet and the next day you were making out with your friend in Italy WTF’. Well there was a lot of time in between that that you didn’t see.”

Back in August 2019, a representative for Miley confirmed the couple had “agreed to separate at this time”.
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” her rep told People in a statement.
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Just days later, Miley was photographed on a yacht in Italy kissing Body Jenner’s ex Kaitynn Carter.
Liam addressed the breakup a few days later, taking to his Instagram to write: “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he captioned an image of a sunset.
”This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets,” he continued.
According to reports, Liam was apparently keen to start a family with Miley, after the pair had been in an on-again-off-again relationship since 2010.
“He wants to settle down and have a conventional family including kids, but that couldn't be further from what Miley is after right now,” an unnamed source told The Sun.
“She made it clear she wanted to be able to have fun with other people - men and women - but it's always been something he's had a hard time understanding.”
They went on to claim, “Their marriage is over and Liam is absolutely heartbroken, but Miley is making up for lost time.”
Miley moved on with Australian singer Cody Simpson, however, last month it was reported the couple have split after 10 months together.
Meanwhile, Liam has been dating model Gabriella Brooks, with the pair regularly pictured out and about together in Byron Bay.
