Miley Cyrus breaks silence on Liam Hemsworth split

Miley Cyrus has broken her silence on her shock split from husband Liam Hemsworth in a lengthy Instagram caption.

The pop star finally shed some light on the situation in a post this morning, saying her heart is full of ‘peace and hope’.

The acknowledgement of her split comes after the singer flooded social media with dozens of holiday snaps for two days while speculation, then confirmation, of her split did the rounds.

Posted alongside a shot of Miley atop a mountain in the Italian Dolomites range, the caption compared her divorce to the natural evolution of a mountain range.

“Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” the singer cryptically kicked off the caption, adding that “change is inevitable”.

The positive take on her divorce after less than one year of marriage was paired with a touching nod to her father Billy Ray Cyrus and his words of wisdom.

“My dad always told me ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’...” she wrote.

“I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own.”

Celebrity pals have flooded the comments with support for the former Disney star.

“I love you,” Ariana Grande wrote, while younger sister Brandi Cyrus simply shared a string of love heart emojis.

Shocking split confirmed

The positive post comes after a representative for Miley confirmed she and Liam had “agreed to separate at this time”.

“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” her rep told People in a statement.

Rumours of a split between the pair first began swirling after the singer posted a photo of herself on Instagram without her wedding ring, even though she was wearing plenty of other jewellery.

While radio silence is the only thing coming from camp Liam, the latest reports suggest the Aussie star is heartbroken over the split, though Miley seems to be doing just fine.

“Their marriage is over and Liam is absolutely heartbroken but Miley is making up for lost time,” a source told The Sun, hinting at Miley’s explosive poolside pash with Kaitlynn Carter.

A budding holiday romance?

In the dozens of snaps Miley has posted to her account over the past week, none have featured Brody Jenner’s ex Kaitlynn, but a quick glance at the reality star’s instagram confirmed the ladies were living it up together.

Now, photos have emerged of the two women kissing on said vacation, sparking speculation Miley may have already moved on.

The singer had previously revealed she identifies as pansexual, opening up in an interview last month that she viewed her marriage with Liam as “confusing and complex”.

She also insisted she was still “very sexually attracted to women” and didn’t “fit into a stereotypical wife role”.

Liam ‘fed up’ with Miley’s wild antics

Though fans have been rocked by the explosive news, it seems that something was brewing for quite some time.

The reports following the couple’s appearance at the Met Gala back in May suggest that there was trouble in paradise for some time.

A source was quoted by OK! Magazine as saying that Liam wasn’t happy with the very public face-licking on the red carpet and that once inside, Miley’s dance floor antics were the final straw.

“She was licking his face for the cameras on the red carpet, then grinding on people on the dance floor inside and grabbing her crotch,' the source is quoted.

There were also suggestions that the couple were on different wave-lengths and Miley’s perceived immaturity coupled with Liam’s desire to settle down was causing friction for months.

“She is acting out like a teenager. [Liam] wants a wife who is ready for babies and she is like, 'Let's go to the club!’,” the source was quoted.

Miley hasn’t uploaded any snaps of the pair together since that night, further fuelling rumours that the Met Gala was when it all started going south after over 10 years of off-again, on-again romance.
