'We got him out': Chris Hemsworth's swipe at Miley Cyrus
They broke up in August 2019 after less than a year of marriage and now Liam Hemsworth’s big brother, Chris Hemsworth, has taken a swipe at Miley Cyrus.
Speaking to News.com.au to promote his Netflix film, Extraction, Chris said he thinks Liam may now be the fittest member of the family after moving from California back to Byron Bay.
"Did you see the Men's Health cover? I thought, 'Not bad kid. Not bad',” Chris said.
"He's out there training and staying fit, and back in Australia doing his thing.
“It's Australian living, I guess. We got him out of Malibu!"
Chris’s quip is being seen as a not-so-subtle dig at his former sister-in-law, Miley Cyrus, who has a song called Malibu, which is all about finding love again with Liam Hemsworth.
Fans were left shocked in August 2019 when Aussie actor Liam and his singer wife Miley parted ways.
A representative for Miley confirmed the couple had “agreed to separate at this time”.
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers,” her rep told People in a statement.
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
Just days later, Miley was photographed n a yacht in Italy kissing Body Jenner’s ex Kaitynn Carter.
Liam addressed the breakup a few days later, taking to his Instagram to write: “Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he captioned an image of a sunset.
”This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets,” he continued.
According to reports, Liam was apparently keen to start a family with Miley, after the pair had been in an on-again-off-again relationship since 2010.
“He wants to settle down and have a conventional family including kids, but that couldn't be further from what Miley is after right now,” an unnamed source told The Sun.
“She made it clear she wanted to be able to have fun with other people - men and women - but it's always been something he's had a hard time understanding.”
They went on to claim, “Their marriage is over and Liam is absolutely heartbroken, but Miley is making up for lost time.”
Miley is now dating Australian singer Cody Simpson while Liam has moved on with model Gabriella Brooks.
