Miley Cyrus caught kissing Aussie Cody Simpson twice in one day

Fresh from her most recent breakup with Kaitlynn Carter, newly single Miley Cyrus, 26, has been snapped locking lips with none other than 22-year-old homegrown heartthrob Cody Simpson.

Miley and Aussie muso Cody, who have been friends for many years, were spotted kissing on at least two public outings in LA on Thursday, sparking speculation that the pair have started dating.

The “Slide Away” hitmaker stepped out with Cody for a “real quick” grocery store visit to pick up sushi and drinks as reported by E! News.

A fellow shopper saw the suspected new couple stealing a smooch but said that they “tried to rush out” once they realised they’d been recognised.

Date number two

Later that same day the pair doubled down on their romantic outings with a casual lunch date at Backyard Bowls, a health food cafe where they were again spotted getting cosy.

A nearby diner captured video of Miley, sporting a simple white tank top and black jeans, leaning over the table to plant a quick but heartfelt kiss on her beanie clad date’s lips.

“Miley on a date with the one and only Cody Simpson,” the fan captioned the clip on social media.

Miley and Cody’s special connection

Cody - who has dated models Gigi Hadid and Clair Wuestenberg in the past - has previously praised Miley for helping him become more “open-minded”.

“Miley is one of my best friends and she helps with some of that transitional stuff - trying to escape your childhood,” he told GQ in 2015.

“She's super open-minded and I'm working on becoming more like that,” he added.

Cody's friendship with Miley has seen her through multiple romantic ups and downs, including her brief fling with Patrick Schwarzenegger in 2014.

The following year, Miley and Cody's then-girlfriend Gigi were both pictured attending his star-studded 18th birthday bash.

Now, it appears that the two artists have been bonding over their passion for music. On the same day as their dates, Cody took to his Instagram stories to share several black and white clips of himself playing a white guitar while singing “Trouble” by Elvis Presley.

Meanwhile, Miley posted a snap of herself wearing a large Elvis badge which she thanked her friend, fashion designer Jeremy Scott, for gifting her.

A coincidence? Perhaps!

Rebound romance take two

Miley's moment with the “Pretty Brown Eyes” singer comes just two weeks after she ended her brief romance with Brody Jenner’s ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter.

It was reported that Miley - who split from husband Liam Hemsworth in August after seven months of marriage - had ended things with the Hills star because they were moving “far too quickly”.

Instead, it’s thought that Miley wants time alone to focus on her career and isn’t looking for a serious romance.

Miley and Kaitlynn were first spotted together when they were pictured kissing while on vacation in Italy the day before news broke that she had split from Hunger Games star Liam.

Cody, meanwhile, has been most recently linked to Lindsay Lohan’s younger sister Ali, and coincidentally is suspected to be a contestant on Lindsay’s TV show, The Masked Singer.
