Michelle Yeoh Sports a Bold Bob and Adds Sparkle to Animal Print in Balenciaga for ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ Red Carpet Premiere
Michelle Yeoh brought glittering drama to the red carpet premiere of “Star Trek: Section 31” on Wednesday in New York City. The Oscar-winning “Everything Everywhere All at Once” actress stars in the film based on the iconic sci-fi series created by Gene Roddenberry.
For the red carpet occasion, Yeoh looked to the runway for inspiration. The actress wore a selection from Balenciaga’s fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection. The long-sleeve maxidress featured an animal print with allover glittering embellishments.

The look also included a loose band of fabric at the back, adding further drama to Yeoh’s sartorial statement. The actress paired the dress with pointed-toe heels and opted for a minimalist approach to her accessories, save for a few statement rings.
As for her glam, Yeoh went bold with an angular bob, featuring fringe that perfectly framed her face. Her makeup included bold smokey eyes and a neutral lip, keeping the focus wholly on Yeoh’s designer ensemble for the evening.
Yeoh’s Balenciaga dress opened the fall 2024 ready-to-wear collection show during Paris Fashion Week in March 2024. “I used this collection as a platform for creative expression, really focusing and putting the spotlight on my personal style,” Demna, the creative director of the Spanish luxury fashion house, told WWD last March.
“I’ve been hammering this aesthetic for almost 10 years now,” Demna said. “And it’s out of my hands. Because there are people who dress on the street who look like they might be wearing Balenciaga, but they aren’t. But the way they wear their clothes, the way they combine them, the way the proportions are, it is this Demna style.”
“Star Trek: Section 31” follows Emperor Philippa Georgiou, played by Yeoh, who joins a secret division of Starfleet tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets, coming to terms with the events of her past along the way. The TV film debuts on Paramount+ on Friday.
