The featured image showed Phelps, 39, his wife, Nicole Johnson, 38, and the birthday boy—dressed in a race car driver bodysuit customized with his name—posing near a race car-themed cake.

Meanwhile, the fourth and fifth pictures in the Instagram post showed Phelps, Johnson, Nico, and the toddler's three older brothers—Boomer, 8, Beckett, 6, and Maverick, 5—in the same shot.

Followers couldn't get over the sweet snaps of Phelps' family of six. One Instagram user wrote, "You have a beautiful family. Those boys are going to break some hearts. 😍."

Someone else commented, "Y’all make the cutest kids! Happiest of birthdays Nico!!!♥️♥️♥️," while a third Instagram user echoed, "You two make the cutest babies! Happy Birthday Nico!"

Another follower who seemingly lost track of how many kids Phelps has, exclaimed, "YOU HAVE FOUR KIDS!?"

In July 2024, Phelps spoke with E! Online about whether he and Johnson want more kids in the future.

When asked whether they might try for a girl after four boys, the swimmer said he thinks "that's it."

"Nicole will tell you too," Phelps added. "I think she said she wanted a girl for me, but we have Onyx."

Onyx is the family's Great Dane, which has also appeared on Phelps' Instagram grid.
