Michael J. Fox Shares Sweet Photo Surrounded by His Entire Family as He Receives Presidential Medal of Freedom: 'Truly Humbled'

Michael J. Fox had his family by his side during one of the most pivotal moments in his career.

The actor, 63, shared a photo on his Instagram on Monday, Jan. 6 after he received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Biden on Saturday, Jan. 4, showing that he was surrounded by his entire family as he was honored.

In the photo, Fox could be seen standing in between his wife Tracy Pollan and Dr. Jill Biden, who was next to Fox's son Sam, 35, and his daughter Esmé, 23. On the other side of Pollan, President Biden smiles as he stands by Fox's twin daughters Schuyler and Aquinnah, 29.

"WOW. Did this happen? Lots of thanks to everybody including Tracy and the kids. I am truly humbled," Fox wrote in his caption.

A second post showed another sweet photo of the family of six, smiling together as Fox showed off his new medal.

Although Fox got a lot of support from his family this past weekend, he's previously shared that his daughters haven't seen one of his most iconic roles.

During a Back to the Future panel at Los Angeles Comic Con in October, the actor was asked about the range of characters he portrayed throughout the trilogy, including Marty McFly’s daughter, Marlene — and what his real-life daughters thought of his performance.

“I don't know if my daughters have seen it,” Fox admitted at the time.

In November, the actor shared a tribute to his daughter Esmé on Instagram in celebration of her 23rd birthday.

"Esme, Happy birthday to our renaissance gal," Fox captioned the post. "You do it all."

He continued to express his love for her, writing, "Your Dood loves you very much. Who doesn’t? Keep living your best life. 😍♥️."

Pollan, 64, also shared a birthday message for Esmé, writing on Instagram: "I love you @esmeannabelle Happy Birthday!!! I love absolutely everything about you and I am blessed to be able to explore the world with you! You are my heart 💜."
