Meryl Streep’s Daughter Mamie Gummer Files for Divorce After 6 Years

Mamie Gummer and her husband of six years, Mehar Sethi, are calling it quits.

According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Meryl Streep's oldest daughter filed for divorce on Thursday, Feb. 6, citing "irreconcilable differences." Interestingly, per the documents, they've been separated for nearly two years, with the official date of separation listed as May 6, 2023.

The True Detective alum is requesting joint custody, both legal and physical, of their 5-year-old son Peter and 3-year-old daughter Mary. According to the publication, she is also seeking spousal support and has requested the court refuse to award support to her soon-to-be ex-husband.

Gummer, 41, and Sethi, a screenwriter with credits on shows like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Rick and Morty and BoJack Horseman, were married on Feb. 2, 2019. They welcomed their eldest later that same month.

The family made a rare appearance back in April, stepping out for a Bluey premiere party at Walt Disney Studios.

Sethi was Gummer's second husband. She divorced Benjamin Walker in 2013, after two years of marriage.

Streep shocked fans in late 2023 when it was revealed that she and husband Don Gummer had been separated for six years, after four-plus decades of marriage.

Streep's other daughter, Grace Gummer, also separated from her then-husband in 2020, Tay Strathairn, after less than two months of marriage. She's currently expecting baby number two with her current husband, Mark Ronson, having debuted her baby bump in December. The new baby will join big sister Ruthie, who is about two years old.
