Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik have “Big Bang Theory” reunion and channel “Blossom” in “Night Court” first look

Bazinga! It's a Big Bang Theory reunion on Night Court.

As Entertainment Weekly exclusively revealed in October, Mayim Bialik is set to guest star in the upcoming season 3 episode of the legal sitcom on Jan. 14, marking a reunion with her BBT costar Melissa Rauch. And now, thanks to a series of first-look images from the episode, viewers can get a glimpse at the fun in store during the get-together.

As EW reported, Bialik will play a heightened version of herself, who turns up in court as a defendant and makes friends with Rauch’s Judge Abby Stone. Turns out, Abby is a huge fan of the 1990s sitcom Blossom — which the real Bialik starred in — and is excited to get to know the actor, but things take a turn when Abby learns that Mayim is stalking her.

In the photos, the two appear to recreate Bialik and Jenna von Oÿ’s iconic pose from the main title sequence of Blossom (above), and in another Rauch can be seen in court wearing a Blossom-inspired hat (below).

The episode marks the first on-screen reunion between Bialik and Rauch since Big Bang concluded in 2019 after 12 seasons. On the beloved sitcom, Rauch of course played Bernadette, a microbiologist who weds Simon Helberg's Howard, and Bialik played Amy, a neuroscientist who marries Jim Parsons' Sheldon.

"It feels like I should be dressed like Amy and she should be dressed like Bernadette," Bialik told EW of the reunion on Night Court. "There's definitely a lot of surreal moments and just a huge nostalgia factor. Melissa and I were next to each other for nine years of our lives and shared a huge section of our time together, as did the entire cast. She and I were brought on together in season 4 on Big Bang, so we really trudged a very similar path in terms of our timing."

At the time, Bialik couldn't tease too much of the Night Court episode, but did promise it would have "meta references" to Big Bang, and that she was playing "a really funny, evil version of myself — it's a lot of fun."

"That's all I can tease," Bialik said. "The episode is kind of meta in the most meta way. Not fully breaking the fourth wall, but breaking the fourth wall of the mind of the audience. So it's pretty cute and I laugh a lot during rehearsal, so I'll have to get that out of my system for tape day."

Night Court fans will recall that Bialik is not the first Big Bang Theory alum to visit the show. In season 2, Kunal Nayyar (Raj) guest starred as British fashion designer and love interest to Abby, Martini Todd Wallace.

Night Court airs Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, and streams the next day on Peacock.
