Meghan Markle told to dress 'less like a Hollywood star'

She’s married to the man who was once dubbed the ‘wild child’ of the royal family, and it seems Meghan Markle may be taking after her rebellious husband.

In fact, it’s being claimed the Duchess of Sussex is causing a stir amongst aides in Kensington Palace for how she goes by her own rules.

According to a source inside the palace, the Queen has raised her eyebrows on numerous occasions about how the 37-year-old former Suits star dresses while out on official royal engagements.

Throwing out the rule book

“Meghan is being told she needs to start dressing less like a Hollywood star and more like a Royal,” the source from one of the fashion teams inside the palace told The Mail on Sunday.

One occasion where Meghan’s fashion choice caused a rumble amongst royal staff was apparently her first official outing with the Queen in June, just one month after her wedding day.

The duo visited Cheshire together and Meghan was reportedly told beforehand that the Queen would be donning a hat for the occasion.

According to insiders, this meant that Meghan was supposed to follow suit and also wear a hat, but she decided against it.

The 92-year-old Monarch is said to be a ‘stickler for the rules’ and also was quite surprised when Meghan wore a crisp, white, long-sleeved Givenchy gown on her wedding day – due to the fact that the Duchess has been married once before.

Since her wedding in May, Meghan has constantly been flouting royal rules, wearing black on many occasions, a colour the royals usually reserve for when they’re in mourning.

She’s also been pictured in dresses above the knee, wearing a cocktail dress to a Remembrance Day ceremony and bearing her shoulders at her first-ever Trooping the Colour parade.

‘Hurricane Meghan’

Over the weekend, it was also reported that Meghan regularly ‘bombards’ aides with text messages after her daily routine of waking up at 5am, leading staff to dub her ‘Hurricane Meghan’.

An alleged royal insider claimed she messages aides up to seven times a day with ideas about her role and is so enthusiastic that she’s been organising a number of ‘undercover’ missions to meet members of the British public who are associated with ‘good causes’.

The revelations came just days after it was reported that three of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s most trusted aides have walked out on them in the past six months.

The most recent person to quit the prestigious role was reportedly Meghan’s personal assistant, who is known only as Melissa.

Melissa is said to have been in charge of dealing with Meghan’s controversial family, including her father, Thomas Markle, throughout the wedding planning process.

The news of her departure reportedly rocked the royal office with a source confirming to the Daily Mail, it was a “real shock”.

“Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?

“To lose one member of the household could happen to anyone. To lose three in a few months is starting to look like a stampede.”
