Meghan Markle said to be 'miserable' in new royal role

Meghan Markle is reportedly feeling “stressed” and “miserable” in her new role as the Duchess of Sussex.

According to US reports, the former actress is struggling to cope with the public scrutiny she has faced, as well as the relentless rumours of a rift between herself and Kate Middleton.

A source told US Weekly that Meghan is “definitely bothered by all the reports and speculations”.

The source also adds that the pregnant 37-year-old is hurt by recent reports portraying her as social climber.

“Meghan has so much on her plate, between being pregnant and dealing with the public backlash and she’s finding the whole situation incredibly stressful,” the palace insider told US Weekly.

However, the mum-to-be has continued to throw herself into her work after Kensington Palace announced will become patron of four organisations.

She seemed confident and happy while out on Thursday visiting one of her new patronages, Smart Works – a charity that helps long-term unemployed and vulnerable women.

Former actress Meghan turned stylist for the visit and helped to select clothes for one of the charity’s clients, explaining how important is it to restore confidence through coaching and clothes.
