Meghan Markle 'absolutely livid' as Piers Morgan cleared of complaint
Meghan Markle is reportedly 'absolutely livid' after Piers Morgan was cleared of complaints about disparaging comments he made about her mental health on-air earlier this year.
The former Good Morning Britain host, however, is 'delighted' with the ruling by the UK media watchdog, Ofcom, hailing it as a "resounding victory for free speech".
Piers 'delighted' with ruling
Ofcom received over 57,000 complaints — the duchess' being one of them — after Piers blasted Meghan and her husband Prince Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey hours after it aired in the US on March 7.
During the bombshell chat, the couple claimed an unnamed royal had raised questions about the colour of their unborn son's skin and Meghan, 40, revealed that she had felt suicidal at the time.
"I'm sorry, I don't believe a word she says," Piers declared afterwards. "I wouldn't believe her if she read me a weather report. The fact she has expressed an onslaught against our Royal Family is contemptible."
The following day, the 56-year-old sensationally walked off set and quit the show amid a heated row with weatherman Alex Beresford, who accused him of unfairly "trashing" the duchess.

But in its 26-page ruling released on Wednesday, Ofcom supported Piers and branded attempts to silence him a "chilling restriction on freedom of expression".
The report ruled: "Mr Morgan was entitled to say he disbelieved the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s allegations and to hold and express strong views that rigorously challenged their account...
"The restriction of such views would, in our view, be an unwarranted and chilling restriction on freedom of expression both of the broadcaster and the audience.
"Overall, Ofcom considered that there is a high public interest value in broadcasting open and frank discussions about race and racism, as long as they comply with the Code."
The watchdog also rejected allegations that Piers was not "duly impartial", had "misrepresented facts" and "mocked the American accent".
Duchess 'livid'
While Piers may be delighted, royal author Angela Levin said the decision would leave Meghan "absolutely livid" and may prompt further legal action.
"She can't cope with someone saying she didn't tell the truth. Because she is all about compassion and understanding and caring for people," Levin told The Sun.
Piers took to Twitter to boast of his win and even eye up his old job.
"@Ofcom rejects all complaints against me over Meghan Markle furore that led to my exit from @GMB. Verdict says I was entitled to disbelieve her & Prince Harry & to restrict my right to do so would be a ‘chilling restriction on freedom of expression.’"
In a second tweet, he wrote: "I’m delighted OFCOM has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke & Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue. This is a resounding victory for free speech and a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchios.
"Do I get my job back?"
Piers also criticised Meghan's decision to take her complaint to his boss, ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall.
"I was reliably informed recently that Meghan Markle wrote directly to my ITV boss Dame Carolyn McCall the night before I was forced out, demanding my head on a plate," he told MailOnline.
"Apparently, she stressed that she was writing to Dame Carolyn personally because they were both women and mothers – a nauseating playing of the gender and maternity card if ever there was one. What has the world come to when a whiny fork-tongued actress can dictate who presents a morning television news programme?"
