Ever since Craig Melvin joined the Today show in 2018, he has been a favorite among the Today cast and audiences alike. In January 2025, he stepped into a new co-anchor role alongside Savannah Guthrie for the 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. time slot. Craig called Savannah, Jenna Bush Hager, Hoda Kotb and Sheinelle Jones "the sisters that I never knew that I needed." Beyond his on-camera family, he's also blessed with many loved ones at home, starting with his wife of 13 years, sports journalist Lindsay Czarniak.

Craig met Lindsay while at NBC4 in 2008. The New York Post reported in December 2016 that Lindsay, who worked at ESPN for six years, had just come back from covering the Beijing Olympics and happened to meet the "new guy" during a commercial break.

Apparently the pair hit it off immediately, reportedly bonding over their love of live music and Whatchamacallit candy bars. The two kept their relationship a secret from their colleagues for a few months. But, eventually, the couple went public with their romance and got married in October 2011.

Presently, Lindsay and Craig live in Connecticut and commute every day for at least an hour to work, according to The Washington Post. But work isn't the only important thing in their lives — their two kids are a big part of their family dynamic as well.

In March 2014, the couple welcomed their son and first child, Delano — which is also Craig's middle name. Two and a half years later, Craig and Lindsay welcomed a daughter, Sybil "Sibby" Ann, into their family.

As People reported in November 2016, little Delano actually helped decide what to name his sister. Apparently, while Lindsay was pregnant, Delano would call her "Sibby" as a way to say sibling. Eventually, the moniker grew on Lindsay and Craig and they ended up "falling in love" with it.

"For a while, we would point to Mommy's belly and he would say, 'No baby, no baby, no baby,'" Craig explained at the time. "Now it's, 'Aw, baby.'"

The entire family was featured on the cover of Parents magazine in 2023, and Craig opened up to the publication about the best part of his day.

"When I get home and both kids and Lindsay are there and I get the 'Daddy!' and the leg grab or the hug and the kiss. It never gets old," he said at the time.

As Delano and Sibby get older, Craig and Lindsay are also experiencing new milestones in their lives. As Craig explained in a June 2024 TikTok talking to the other Today co-anchors for a Father's Day chat, he's looking to embark on a relationship with his kids that differs from the ones he had with his own parents growing up.

"I'm honest with [Delano]," he shared. "I said, 'You know, Pop-Pop and I when I was growing up, we weren't as close as we are now.' I didn't fully appreciate then why my father wasn't around as much... I want my son to understand that cycles can be broken."

What's more, Lindsay, Delano and Sibby are there to support Craig during the most important moments of his career. When he co-anchored his first Today show episode in January 2025, the trio surprised him by coming to set for his special moment. Not only did Craig tear up on live TV, he called it "the best surprise."

So, how does Craig feel about the life he and Lindsay built together with Delano and Sibby? Craig couldn't help but gush to Good Housekeeping how proud he was of the family, and how he hopes to keep their bond strong.

"If you asked me before children, I would have given you four or five professional accomplishments because my job is awesome," he said in May 2024. "But I'm immensely proud of the family that my wife and I are building. I'm proud of my extended family and the relationship I've been able to forge with my father late in life."
