Fans on social media were thrilled with the news, pouring into the comments to say “Damn best happy meal in forever” and “Let's go!!!🫡🫡🫡.”

Screenrant reports that a total of fifteen Pokémon cards will be available in the promotion, with fan favorites like Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Charizard making an appearance.

This isn’t the first time McDonald’s has partnered with Pokémon, both in the United States and internationally, though the U.S. did not participate in the promotion in 2024, making the cards with special holofoil patterns even more exciting for collectors.

One Instagram commenter pointed that out, writing, “I really hope scalpers don't ruin happy meals for kids,” with others chiming in to say that “they do unfortunately. Seen guys go up and buy like 10 happy meals or just go in and ask to buy the packs.”

A third agreed, commenting, “sadly, if it's Pokemon, there WILL be scalpers looking to capitalize.”

Over on Reddit, commenters shared similar reactions, writing, “The last time cards came to McDonald's I had a coworker whose second job was there. He said there were multiple people just wanting to buy entire boxes. Our McDonald's refused to sell the box and the scalper was forced to buy something like 70+ Happy Meals.”

“Man with the shortage of cards and now McDonalds I feel like it’s the 90s again,” said another.
