MasterChef slammed for giving fan favourite more attention than anyone else

MasterChef fans have taken to social media to slam the cooking competition for giving season one runner-up Poh Ling Yeow more attention than any of the other chefs.

Fans in Facebook group MasterChef Australia 2020 have branded the new season of the show "The Poh Show".

One fan wrote, "Is this the Poh show?" While another added, "It always was the Poh show, even when she was with Julie [Goodwin] it was still the Poh show. Just over it."

Someone else wrote, "Oh riveting... The Poh Show keeps on rolling! So staged!"

Others slammed the show's producers for framing Poh as the standout chef, "Please MasterChef Australia, I know you can't alter the pre recorded episodes but when you catch up, PLEASE don't put so much attention on [Poh], she is not the most important person there."

Someone else wrote, "Poh had more lives than a cat in the first series. Hopefully, this series will be fairer to all contestants."

But it seems some fans of the show were loving all the attention that Poh was receiving.

One fan said, "I can't understand why everyone hates [Poh]! I think she's funny, self [deprecating] and not up herself at all.

"Yes the camera follows her a lot. But I don't blame her for that. I really like her."

It comes after Poh's fellow contestant Harry Foster hit out at the show for barely featuring him in Sunday night's episode.

Harry took to his Instagram Stories and shared a snap of himself with a bottle of beer alongside the caption, "MasterChef didn't send me any photos of my food on the show tonight... sorry about that."

Other contestants from the show had obviously received images of their food, as stars like Poh, Reynold Poernomo and Rose Adam all uploaded snaps from their cooks to their official pages.

When a fan wrote back to Harry’s Instagram story saying: “Wouldn’t even know you’re in MasterChef this season,” the chef simply wrote back saying: “Haha same”.

Harry recreated the dish he made on Sunday night's episode and shared a photo to Instagram on Monday.

Here’s what I made on the show last night for those who blinked and missed it,” he captioned the photo.

“Butter confit Blue Eye on stir fried kangkong and sweet potato shoots with a gochujang glaze of sorts. Feckin yummy.”

One fan commented on the snap saying: “I am fascinated why they are not giving you enough airtime. I hope that means you are going far.”

Others commended Harry on the dish, saying it looked beautiful.
