MasterChef fans left 'underwhelmed' by this year's season
'Can Season 15 keep up with the high standard from the past few years?'
MasterChef Australia fans have taken to social media to rant over this year's 'underwhelming' season, with some saying it 'isn't up to the same standard' as previous years.
"Can Season 15 keep up with the high standard from the past few years?" one Reddit user questioned. "We're slightly underwhelmed by dishes cooked this year so far. Anyone else feel the same?"
Other Redditors were quick to respond, with one user agreeing, "Me too, this season isn't up to same standard as previous seasons."
"Yes I actually feel the same," another said. "Can't put my finger on why exactly but when I think back to Depinder, Kishwar, Pete, Tommy, Justin all bringing their insane food week after week, I can't help feeling a little disappointed this year so far. Might change still! Don't get me wrong, lovely contestants, just not quite there for me yet."

"I’d love to see how they chose the cast this year," a third said. "It really is different and no one is standing out as having a big arc in terms of developing and flourishing yet. Maybe Theo a little."
"It's almost like they tried to pull back to having actual home cooks on the show but didn't tell the audience, so we're expecting to see Reynold [Poernomo]-tier desserts and instead we're sitting at La Porchetta watching the pasta roll in," someone else added.
Some pointed out that the fact contestants have had less masterclasses and thus less opportunities to progress may also be an issue, as they are still at the same level they were when they entered the competition.
"I know what you mean. Maybe we've been spoiled in the last few years, but it does feel like it's not got going fully yet," one user agreed.
Others suggested Brent Draper has a chance to win, however, another responded, "Brent just served up a single corndog. That is the definition of underwhelming."

"I am still rooting for him though, cuz everyone else seem more underwhelming," someone else responded.
Brent was inspired by Josh Niland, who is known for his creative fish dishes, when he created his 'Dagwood Dory', using John Dory to put a spin on Dagwood Dog.
His followers loved the idea, with one Instagram user commenting, "Such a talented idea! I need this to become a staple at shows."
"Omg! Tonight was your best dish! Josh was so proud of you, so damn talented!" another added.
"Looked and no doubt tasted great, such clever thinking Brent," a third said.
