'The Masked Singer' Season 13: Premiere date, time, cast and where to watch

"The Masked Singer" is returning for it's 13th and "most unhinged" season yet.

The top-secret celebrity singing competition, will be back on Fox on Wednesday for another round of contestants who conceal their identities with elaborate animal costumes.

This year, panelists Robin Thicke and Rita Ora will be joined by Season 12 runner-up Mario, who was revealed to be the Wasp, for a performance of "Get Lucky" to kick the season off. The season will also commemorate franchises including Shrek, the Rat Pack, Ghostbusters, and the 100th anniversary of The Grand Ole Opry, among others.

This time around, 15 celebrities will compete for the most elusive and coveted prize in Hollywood, The Golden Mask Trophy. A new costumed character who goes by "Detective Lucky Duck" will help panelists "uncover who's behind each mask."

"The Masked Singer" even launched a mobile game tied to the Season 13 premiere, where players clear levels by shooting digital bubbles, which features characters from the show, according to Variety.

What is 'The Masked Singer'?

"The Masked Singer" is a "top-secret singing competition in which celebrities face off against one another while shrouded from head to toe in an elaborate costume, concealing his or her identity," according to Fox.

The host, panelists, other contestants, the audience and viewers at home are left guessing who the celebrity behind the mask is with each performance.

Celebrity contestants may try to throw everyone off, but tiny clues are buried throughout the show. The identity of these celebrities is not revealed until they are eliminated. And eliminations happen every week.

Only one celebrity contestant, the one who kept their identity a secret the best, is left standing by the end of the show and is ultimately crowned the winner. R&B group Boyz II Men were crowned the winners of Season 12 and Vanessa Hudgens won the season before that.

Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, and Robin Thicke, who have all served as panelists since the show made its debut, return to the stage for Season 13.

Rita Ora, relatively new to the gig, took over for Nicole Scherzinger in 2020 and Nick Cannon continues to serve as the show's emcee.

This season, though, the panelists are joined by "Detective Lucky Duck," who is slated to assist in the musical guessing game. The identity of the person in the duck costume will remain a secret.
