Masked Singer's Mel B told Hughesy to 'f**k off': 'A bit creepy'

The Masked Singer has started filming in Sydney, and Spice Girl Mel B has revealed she didn't get along with Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes at the beginning.

Hughesy admitted that Mel told him to ‘f**k off’ the very first time the pair met, and the pop star has now explained why.

On Wednesday, Mel went on Hughesy’s 2Day FM breakfast radio show and claimed her response was warranted, as Hughesy was ‘a bit creepy’ when they met.

“[I said] something along those lines [of f**k off] because he was being a bit creepy…a bit stare-y. And I’m like, ‘What are you doing?’ she told the radio hosts.

“I know he’s got a beautiful wife, great kids…that also don’t want to spend that much time with him, because they went away on holiday!” she quipped.

She spilled that the pair now get along after working on the show, apart from when Hughesy tries to rile her up on purpose.

This comes after judge Dave Hughes confessed on The Project that he’s butting heads with the pop star, and said that filming has been ‘absolutely hectic’.

“We’ve got a new panel. We’re actually already filming, and it’s hectic! Absolutely hectic. I tell you what — I know why Scary Spice is called Scary Spice,” he started.

“I love her, and she knows it, but me and her have a relationship going. She told me to beep off in our first meeting.”

The pair have big personalities, and the star believes this is why they have such a turbulent relationship.

Dave is also known for his hilarious wrong guesses, often including deceased or completely inappropriate celebrities, when trying to guess who is behind the masks.

“I keep guessing dead people on the show. She doesn’t understand that’s my thing,” he joked.

Since Mel is such a superstar, Dave spills that she “knows every celebrity in the world”, and doesn’t like it when he guesses someone she’s friends with.

“When I guess Taylor Swift, she goes, ‘I know Taylor. She isn’t that tall’. I said, ‘You haven’t seen her for a few months — she might have shrunk,’” he added.
