The Masked Singer fans praise new judging panel for 2022: ‘Iconic’
With Urzila Carlson, Dannii Minogue and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson recently revealing that they won’t be returning to The Masked Singer for season four, Channel Ten has now announced the new star-studded lineup of panellists.
The Project host Chrissie Swan, media personality and former reality TV star Abbie Chatfield, and world-famous pop phenomenon Mel B will be joining comedian Dave Hughes on the show in 2022.
In a statement from Channel Ten, the Spice Girl shared her excitement about being a part of the Australian franchise after previously appearing on both the British and Spanish versions of The Masked Singer as a contestant.
“Hello Australia. I have missed you so much but I am back and I can’t wait to get the party started with Hughesy, Abbie and Chrissie,” she said.
“Let me tell you though, I am the best-ever game player and I have something up my sleeve that none of these guys have… I’ve hidden behind these masks as a competitor not once but twice.
“So I’m bringing all my secret inside knowledge to this. But more to the point, I’m bringing the fun. Fasten your seatbelts everyone, it’s going to be a rollercoaster ride.”

Mel B has featured on a number of Australian reality TV shows in the past, including as a judge on The X Factor for three seasons, a presenter on Dancing with the Stars in 2012 and a coach on The Voice Kids in 2014.
She was also cast as a judge on Australia's Got Talent in 2013, but was barred by the courts after it was ruled that she had breached her Channel Seven contract by trying to join Channel Nine. She was eventually replaced by her former bandmate, Gerri Halliwell.
‘Bring on the clues!’
Chrissie Swan has also appeared in a number of reality TV shows throughout her illustrious career, most notably on season three of Big Brother in 2003 where she came runner-up.
The radio host also finished in third place on the first season of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and competed on Celebrity MasterChef last year.
“I'm here to guess who is under the masks, I'm here to get them right and I mean business!” she said in a statement from Channel Ten. “And let’s face it, I couldn't possibly be any worse than Hughesy at guessing them correctly!"
Meanwhile, Abbie Chatfield first gained media attention in 2019 when she became the runner-up on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor.
The unapologetic and unfiltered personality went on to appear on Bachelor in Paradise and win season seven of I’m A Celebrity, in addition to hosting Love Island Afterparty last year. She also hosts her own podcast It’s A Lot and national radio show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield.
“I am thrilled to be joining the panel!” she said. “I’m the first to say I can be competitive and I’m so ready to put my pop culture knowledge to the test and guess who is under the mask. Bring on the clues!”
