Channel 10 has revealed the first teaser for season three of The Masked Singer Australia, with many fans saying that the new characters look “terrifying”.
While it’s yet to have a premiere date, the upcoming reality show has been described as “the whackiest, most mind-bending and highly-addictive singing competition on TV”.
The trailer features six fabulous new characters all singing the song That’s Not My Name by The Ting Tings.
The costumes include an enormous Baby, a fish with a very dated hairstyle appropriately named Mullet, a smiling Kebab, a rainbow Piñata, a very high fashion Atlantis and a gothic Vampire.
Fans online have already shared their opinions on the latest masked singers, with many saying the teaser video has frightened them.
“These costumes are low-key scary,” one person wrote, with another adding, “This is terrifying but I wanna watch it”.
Others applauded the creativity and hard work that has gone into the new season’s characters, adding that the wardrobe department “have outdone themselves”.
“The costumes are amazing and original ideas! Can't wait for the show to begin,” a fan commented.
“Can we just take a moment to notice how incredible the masks are so far this year?” another remarked.
“Vampire and Atlantis are gorgeous,” a third replied, while others said “Piñata already has my heart” and “Kebab looks the best”.
While Channel 10 is yet to reveal clues for this year’s contestants - instead, simply saying that the show will feature “mystery celebrities from Australia and abroad” - social media users have begun sharing their guesses.
“The fish is Jimmy Barnes,” a fan predicted, with a second adding, “Piñata sounds like Stan Walker”.
After someone announced, “Rita Ora is def on there, I think she is the kebab”, a different person speculated, “Kebab is Leigh Sales”.
Another follower also shared their theory that the Baby is Britney Spears because of her debut single ...Baby One More Time.
The teaser trailer comes after reports that season one judge Lindsay Lohan will not return to the competition this year.
According to TV Blackbox, Lindsay has blamed COVID-19 restrictions as the reason she’s not able to travel to Australia for filming.
Due to this, it can be assumed that the judges will remain the same as last year’s season, featuring Dannii Minogue, Jackie O, Dave Hughes and Urzila Carlson.
