MAFS 2022: Major editing fail spotted at first dinner party

Monday night's Married At First Sight dinner party wasn't short of drama, but it also featured a major editing fail.

Some eagle-eyed MAFS viewers may have spotted the huge editing fail during the dinner party when it came to Selin and Anthony.

The episode saw Selin arriving to the dinner party alone with her 'husband' Anthony arriving much later after everyone else, for maximum impact. If you remember, he arrived once it was already dark outside.

However, despite it being nighttime when Anthony made his way into the room, the shots of him on his way to the dinner party and getting out of the car were all in broad daylight.

Yahoo Lifestyle can share the surprising reason behind this – Anthony was actually one of the first participants to arrive on set for the dinner party, but after he was filmed getting out of the car, he was quickly whisked away by producers to another building.

He was then held there for almost two hours to allow the drama to build as Selin badmouthed him to the other contestants.

Producers then perfectly timed his arrival into the room for the biggest impact.

Selin slammed for dinner party behaviour

Fans were left unimpressed by Selin's behaviour at the dinner party, which saw her quickly rally her fellow female participants together to share her version of what went down at their honeymoon.

“He just wanted some time. I mean, we had a bit of a moment,” she began. “I’m not gonna throw him under the bus… But he said what he had to say and then he would storm off. He just wasn’t able to communicate.”

The show’s experts were clearly unimpressed with Selin’s actions as they watched on from the other room, with Alessandra Rampolla sarcastically remarking: “It’s a good thing she’s not throwing him under the bus”.

“Selin is gathering in the troops. She is making all the girls form opinions before Anthony enters the room,” John Aiken added.

As the couples sat down for dinner, Anthony was left shocked that everyone had heard Selin's version of what had gone down during the honeymoon.

“Wow, obviously Selin had told everybody her side of the story already. It threw me off guard, I wasn’t expecting that,” he said. “I thought she would be a little bit more respectful to the situation because I don’t want to sit there and sort of have a ‘he said, she said’ argument in front of everybody.”

Domenica and Tamara immediately took Selin's side and pushed him for his side of the story, despite him saying he would like to speak with his 'wife' privately.

The couple eventually went into another room to discuss the issue and Anthony apologised for leaving the honeymoon early and said that he hopes they can move forward.

Selin, however, refused to accept his apology and said that she couldn’t move past the fact that he had “up and left”.

“My perspective is, the reason why we’re in this situation is because you left. That’s the issue, you cannot communicate,” she said, leaving the MAFS experts unimpressed with her conflict management.

Social media users slammed Selin, labelling her a bully and calling her "mean".
