The Motion Picture and Television Fund supports requests for aid with financial assistance, counseling for needs including rent, house payments, medical bills and navigating insurance for working and retired industry members, as well as providing access to resources with other organizations.

“As we’ve seen over the past few years, MPTF has been essential to supporting our community through the pandemic, strikes, and job contractions,” said Casey Wasserman, longstanding MPTF board member and fundraiser. “We’re so thankful to Marilyn and Jeffrey, and many others, whose extraordinary generosity enables these programs to continue for our industry.”

Jim Gianopulos, MPTF Board Chair, added, “Our Social Services team has been incredible at mobilizing for those who need them – not only for financial assistance but also for case management through the network of other resources that can be difficult to understand and strategize for someone navigating enormous challenges and devastating loss. Marilyn and Jeffrey have truly stepped up to help those who have been blindsided by these life-changing events.”

Affected industry members can call MPTF’s intake line at 323-634-3888 or visit mptf.com/wildfirerelief for more information.
