Maria Georgas Drops Lengthy TikTok After Being Name-Checked in Dramatic 'Bachelorette' Finale
Bachelor alum Maria Georgas dropped a lengthy statement on TikTok after having her name come up (somewhat unexpectedly!) during The Bachelorette's incredibly dramatic finale.
For those of you who have no idea what we're talking about: Jenn Tran revealed that her fiancé, Devin Strader, had ended their engagement ahead of the show's live After the Final Rose special. And during their tense convo, Jenn confronted Devin about following Maria on Instagram.
Maria's thoughts on the matter? After explaining that her heart goes out to Jenn, the reality star said “I’m over coming to defense for my character" and went on to say "Guys, hearing my name, I understand that Jenn having to speak up about it: say your piece, girlfriend, I respect it. I just think without the full context, it leads people to believe a whole different narrative.”
Maria then explained exactly what happened: “Yes, Devin followed me on Instagram. Guys, I don’t pay attention to who follows me and who doesn’t. I have no clue about that, until people brought it to my attention, I didn’t know. And by that time, when I found out, he had unfollowed. Let me clear the air on something. I have never met Devin before. I never went clubbing out with him, I understand he did his own thing."
"I can’t control who follows who,” she added. “But what I can control is what I do about it. And what I’m doing is not following back. And I never followed back. And now seeing how things transpired, I will never follow that man. And people knew that. So the fact that this whole thing has come out now, and the story has changed, is beyond me. I have nothing to do with the ending of the relationship. Like I said, that is on them to speak about. My name being brought up was a shock."
Oh, and for those wondering if Maria might be open to re-joining Bachelor Nation one day, she literally said "this is why I cannot be Bachelorette," soooo!
