Margot Robbie and Husband Tom Ackerley Are 'Settling Into Being Parents': They're 'So Happy' (Exclusive)
"They waited a long time to get pregnant, so it was almost unbelievable when the baby actually arrived," an insider tells PEOPLE about the married couple
Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley are "so happy" to be parents.
Days after an exclusive source confirmed to PEOPLE that the Barbie star, 34, and her husband, 34, welcomed their first baby together, an insider shared with PEOPLE how the couple is adjusting to their new role.
"They waited a long time to get pregnant, so it was almost unbelievable when the baby actually arrived," says the insider. "They’ve both been settling into being parents."
"They’re homebodies so it’s been lovely to spend the time just them, at home with him," the insider adds. "They’re so happy."

In July, multiple sources confirmed to PEOPLE that Robbie and Ackerley, who married in December 2016 during a private ceremony in Australia's Byron Bay, were expecting their first child.
The pair met in 2013 on the set of Suite Française, where he was working as a third assistant director and Robbie was starring alongside Michelle Williams.

A year later, they began their romance, and together with Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara, founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment.
In a 2021 conversation with Daily Mirror, Robbie said that Ackerley often gives her a confidence boost when taking on a new role.
"I'm always nervous to start any job. I have this complete crisis of faith and think, 'Oh my gosh, I'm not even good at acting and I can't do this,' " she told the outlet. "Every time I do a movie, I turn to my husband and I'm like, 'I don't think I can do this'. He says something like, 'You do this every time. You'll be fine.' "
In June, Ackerley also gushed about his relationship with Robbie, telling The Sunday Times that the two have a healthy work-life balance and spend "24 hours a day" together.
