Married at First Sight is rumoured to be making a huge change for its upcoming season with celebrities participating in the social experiment.
According to Daily Mail, a number of former reality TV stars have been approached to star on season nine of the show “to spice things up”.
The publication reported that producers are hoping to cast previous MAFS contestants and have already reached out to a few people, including Sam Ball and Jo McPharlin.
This would likely be a similar situation to Elizabeth Sobinoff, who failed to find love on season six and was re-matched the following year with Sebastian Guilhaus.
Bachelorette star Jamie Doran also appears to have been contacted to take part in the reality TV show, taking to his Instagram to share a screenshot of a text he received.
“I’m a casting producer for Married At First Sight. I am casting this year and am just wondering if you are still looking for love and would be interested in applying for this year,” the message read.
On top of the screenshot, Jamie wrote his reply: “Not a f**king chance!”
Experts Mel Schilling, John Aitken and Alessandra Rampolla are confirmed to be returning for the new series next year, with casting currently underway.
While the show typically starts filming in August, production has reportedly been postponed because of the pandemic and will kick off later this month.
MAFS exes reuniting
The casting rumours come shortly after reports that former MAFS stars KC Osborne and Michael Goonan will be reuniting on the upcoming season of Ex On The Beach.
While Michael and KC weren’t paired together on season seven of the Channel Nine show, they dated for five months after filming wrapped.
It’s claimed that the Ex On The Beach producers are hoping for a ‘love triangle’ with the casting of KC, Michael and Stacey.
