MAFS' Jamie slams Carina and Lauren in explosive interview: 'Embarrassing'
EXCLUSIVE: Jamie Marinos reveals where she stands with her co-stars post-show.
Married At First Sight’s Jamie Marinos and Carina Mirabile appeared to be close friends during the first few weeks of the experiment, but everything changed in Wednesday night’s episode. The brides had a heated exchange at the dinner party when they refused to see eye-to-eye on their co-star Lauren Hall's behaviour at the couples retreat.
Fans were also divided on social media, with some people criticising Jamie for shutting Carina down and saying she was “speaking stupidity”, and others arguing that Carina should’ve just apologised for not defending her friend. Jamie herself has now weighed in and told Yahoo Lifestyle what she thought watching the episode and whether her opinion has changed since filming.
“It was really frustrating seeing the approach Carina took which was this victim mentality, but she wasn’t. No one forced her to argue with me. You just can't complain after you throw stones just because I know how to throw boulders,” she declares.

“It was like I was constantly gaslit into believing this narrative. Everyone was acting like there were no cameras around even though the whole retreat was recorded. Apparently, I attacked Lauren out of nowhere, I was ambushing her, and it was just all my fault and I was yelling at people for no reason because I'm just an aggressive person. So it’s very frustrating.”
Does Jamie have any regrets about her fight with Carina?
Jamie admits the dinner party fight “wasn’t her finest moment” and after doing some self-reflection, she wishes she had articulated herself better.
“It wasn’t really much about the apology, it was about owning behaviour and I wish I pointed out more what was actually going on and the gaslighting to flip the script,” she says.
“Obviously the experts are just seeing Carina crying because she's shut down and they’re thinking, ‘Oh Jamie's a bully’. So it's almost like this narrative they were pushing is how the experts received it based on their reactions. That's the only thing I wish because I let myself down there because I wasn’t in the wrong at all.”
Is Jamie still friends with Carina?
When asked if she had any contact with Carina while watching Wednesday night’s episode, Jamie gave a rather telling response.
“Why would Carina reach out to me? She doesn't know how to be a friend,” she remarks. “We're grown-ups, we've moved forward, we’re friendly, but at the same time, she’s had so much time to go, ‘Okay actually, this is really bad’.
“There are multiple countries chiming in now going, ‘Carina, look at what's going on’, and she still can't put that together. So that to me just shows she still doesn’t get it, she never got it, and that's not a friend. She’s proved the type of friend she is, so I don’t need that.”
Is Jamie still friends with Rhi?
On the other hand, Jamie says she’s maintained her friendship with fellow bride Rhi Disljenkovic after she apologised to her at the dinner party.
“I’m friends with Rhi,” she asserts. “The thing is, you can see there's a very clear difference. You've got Carina, who still can't figure out where she went wrong. She’s like, ‘I did the same thing as Rhi’ but no, you didn't apologise. You doubled down, and you still don't understand what you're even talking about.
“Rhi also tried to approach me off camera at the retreat, but I was upset and I was crying in bed all day. Carina was too busy taking selfies with Lauren. Like, Carina didn't give a f**k, she didn't care. Her saying she was my friend I think is just laughable. She wasn’t.”
Has Jamie had any contact with Lauren?
While Jamie caught up with both Rhi and Carina at an unofficial cast reunion in Melbourne last month, she reveals she hasn’t had any contact with Lauren since filming the show.
“I don't think anyone should [communicate with Lauren], save yourself,” she says. “She’s obviously got problems. Imagine having a decade on someone and calling them names. Like, this b***h has a decade on me, relax. Name calling and you’re pushing 40? How embarrassing.”

She adds, however, that she has since become a fan of Lauren’s made-up term ‘boganic’ and now wears it as a badge of honour.
“Honestly, much like ‘fetch’, I think we actually should make it happen,” she shares. “I quite like it, it's actually quite a catchy word. I have no issue, I referred to myself as a boganic bride. I’ll wear that, I don’t give a f**k.”
