Ben Affleck Acts "Extra Giddy" Around Jennifer Garner Amid "Affectionate" Relationship

Ben Affleck turned to ex-wife Jennifer Garner for support during his divorce from Jennifer Lopez–and according to sources, their co-parenting relationship has since blossomed into an “affectionate” friendship. The exes–who share children Violet, 19, Seraphina, 16, and Samuel, 13–have been prioritizing spending quality time together as a family after his split from J.Lo was finalized, and insiders tell People that it’s clear that the pair are on “great terms.” The former couple was recently spotted smiling and laughing during a playful game of paintball during the Oscars on Sunday, demonstrating how an “extra giddy” Affleck is cherishing their newly rekindled “close bond.”

A source told People both Affleck and Garner are enjoying their new dynamic, including their March 2 paintball reunion for their son Samuel’s paintball birthday party. "They have been on good terms for a while now and seem to enjoy chatting and hanging out," a source shared. “Most of the time, the kids are around too."

Affleck and Garner broke up in 2015 following a decade of marriage, and have both been romantically linked to other people since their divorce was finalized in 2018. The 13 Going on 30 alum is currently dating her longtime boyfriend John Miller, while Affleck recently finalized his divorce from Lopez after two years of marriage and is “casually dating.”

The source revealed that Affleck "usually acts happy around" Garner, but noted that he has been "extra giddy lately, though, and much more affectionate." They revealed that the feeling was mutual, sharing, "She doesn't seem to mind. She seems to enjoy spending time with Ben,"

Another insider echoed these sentiments, telling the publication that "They get along great” and “she makes him laugh like no one else can.” They added that Jen “seems happy that Ben's happy."

However, an Affleck source quickly squashed romance rumors, labeling them as "ridiculous." Another insider also noted that while Affleck is “charming,” it's unlikely that they would rekindle things beyond a friendship level. He has “this dark, struggling side that resurfaces," they said about Affleck. "Over the years, it affected their marriage negatively and caused their divorce."

They added, "When he's doing well, he has great energy. Right now, Jen has only good things to say about him."
