Less than two weeks after revealing insecurities over his “cracked, tiny” teeth, Married At First Sight star Jake Edwards has showed off his new look.
The former TV groom shared photos on social media of his $26k dental glow-up after visiting celebrity dentist Dr Deepan 'Dr Dee' Duraisamy.
Jake’s dramatic change is thanks to seven porcelain veneers and four porcelain crowns on his upper teeth.
“I’m just extremely happy, overwhelmed and super grateful,” he wrote on Instagram about his ‘life-changing smile’.
“It's been a challenging 4 months and this for me right now is part of my new chapter and new journey in life.”
Earlier this month, Jake stepped down as CEO from his charity Outside the Locker Room after six years.
He also recently broke up with his post-show girlfriend Sophie Guidolin and spent time at a wellness retreat to focus on his mental health.
The 33-year-old previously admitted that he was surprised at how much people cared about his teeth.
“Even on my ‘wedding day’ I copped a lot of grief. Yes, they’re cracked, chipped, tiny. You don’t need to tell me, I know,” he told his followers.
The former AFL star acknowledged that his teeth were a result of playing professional sport for a large part of his life.
Jake’s followers rushed to the comments to compliment his new appearance, including a number of former MAFS co-stars.
“They look unreal mate!” Bryce Ruthven wrote.
Liam Cooper added: “Looking good mate.”
“I am single now,” joked Patrick Dwyer.
Other fans noted that Jake has always been handsome, but they’re glad the new look makes him happy.
“Looks amazing!” one person shared. “I still thought you were a top bloke both personality and look wise before the teeth, glad you are happy!”
“You should be very proud. You looked great before but now even better,” another commented.
Jake’s makeover comes after fellow reality TV groom Patrick Dwyer underwent a total teeth overhaul that’s thought to have cost a minimum of $24,000.
The personal trainer shared several snaps to his Instagram after the procedure last month, telling fans why he decided to get it done.
“Not going to lie, after seeing my teeth on MAFS I realised how bad they were and started to get self-conscious about my smile," he wrote.
“I did get a lot of negative comments about my teeth but it was when I personally started to dislike them that it started to bother me.”
